Fine Art Children’s Portrait Series | Daughters of Nature

A Fine Art Portrait Series by Katrina Brothers

A beekeeper tends to wooden beehive frames in a sunny garden setting.

This portrait series explores daughters growing up in quiet relationship with the natural world: the small moments of curiosity, wonder, and observation that shape how a child begins to understand the living things around her.

Each image reflects a girl beginning to notice the rhythms of nature...the birds in the trees, the insects beneath leaves, the flowers that bloom and fade with the seasons.

Some daughters listen for birdsong at dawn.

Some gather wildflowers from the garden.

Some watch butterflies drift through summer air.

Some quietly observe the hidden life beneath the forest floor.

Every portrait reveals a daughter standing at the beginning of a lifelong relationship with the living world.

A Living Series

Participate in the Series

Daughters of Nature is an ongoing fine art portrait project exploring the quiet relationship between childhood and the natural world.

Each portrait reflects a girl discovering the rhythms of nature... the birds that sing at dawn, the insects hidden among leaves, the flowers that bloom and fade with the seasons.

These images are not simply about nature itself, but about the way children learn to notice, protect, and care for the small living things around them.

Some daughters listen for birds in the trees.

Some gather flowers from the garden.

Some watch butterflies drift through summer air or quietly observe insects beneath a stone.

Each portrait tells the story of a young girl beginning to understand the living world she belongs to.

A small number of portraits are created for this series each year.
