There's something incredibly special about the season of engagement. It's a time filled with excitement, anticipation, and dreams of the life you're building together. Your engagement session isn't just about creating beautiful photographs for your save the dates or wedding website. It's about documenting the beginning of your story in a place that feels meaningful to you.

Growing up, living and photographing throughout Southern Maine has allowed me to discover some truly beautiful locations that offer timeless scenery, stunning light, and the perfect backdrop for your engagement photographs. Whether you're envisioning a quiet beach at sunset, dramatic rocky cliffs, or a charming coastal town, there's a location that perfectly reflects your relationship.

Here are some of my favorite places for engagement sessions throughout Southern Maine.

1. FOOTBRIDGE BEACH, OGUNQUIT (ME)

If I could recommend just one beach for engagement photographs, Footbridge Beach would be at the top of my list.

One of the things I love most about this location is its incredible variety. Within a short walk, you'll find soft sandy dunes, sea grass, tidal pools, a small footbridge, and a beautiful stretch of open beach. Even better, the changing tide has far less impact here than at many other local beaches, making it one of the most dependable locations throughout the year.

As the sun begins to set, the light becomes warm and soft, creating the romantic, timeless look so many couples love.

Perfect for:

Barefoot beach walks

Sunset portraits

Elegant, natural images

Couples wanting multiple backdrops in one location

Within just a short walk, we can photograph on the bridge, beneath towering trees, along scenic paths, and near the water, giving your gallery a wonderful variety of backdrops.

If you're looking for a location that feels intimate and a little off the beaten path, Wiggly Bridge is one of my favorite places to photograph.
