Some sessions are about more than photographs.
Some sessions carry the weight of memory, love, and loss.
This was one of them.
My uncle passed away suddenly on November 22, 2016.
He was the kind of person people remember not just for what he had, but for how he lived.
He loved fast cars. The kind that made you feel something the moment you heard them start.
He had a dark sense of humor that could catch you off guard and make you laugh when you least expected it.
And more than anything, he showed up for people in the ways that mattered most.
He was supposed to meet his first grandchild the very next day.
That moment never came.
Over the years, life continued to move forward the way it always does.
Families grow. Children get older. Seasons change.
But some things stay.
His Mustang was one of them.
It sat in the driveway for nearly ten years. Not untouched, not forgotten. Just there.
A constant. A reminder. A piece of him that never really left.
It was something you could see. Stand next to. Sit inside.
Something that still felt connected to him in a way words cannot fully explain.
This session was never about the car itself.
It was about what it carries.
It was about
a father
a daughter
memories that still live on
and something that deserved to be remembered with care and intention
Some things do not look emotional on the surface.
But they hold years of meaning.
At the heart of my work, whether I am photographing a family, a senior, or something deeply meaningful, the goal is always the same.
To preserve what matters.
Sometimes that looks like a mother holding her child.
Sometimes it looks like a senior standing on the edge of a new chapter.
And sometimes, it looks like something that holds a story all its own.
When the car is gone, this will not be the end of its story.
It will live on in printed photographs.
In a carefully designed album.
And in a cinematic film that captures what words often cannot.
Because sometimes, photographs become more than images.
They become the only way to hold onto something we can no longer touch.
